WHO WILL BE FILMING AND EDITING MY WEDDING?
This is what separates D. Barrett Studios from others. Your wedding from start to finish will be in my care. As an experienced filmmaker, editor, and colorist, you can know that your wedding will receive the care and attention it deserves. I take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure that I can give each film the amount of concentrated time needed to ensure it will be a film that stands the test of time.
Because it’s forever.

HOW MUCH COVERAGE IS INCLUDED ON MY WEDDING DAY?
To keep things simple for you, I don't charge by the hour. I understand that you have enough going on with your wedding day without adding the extra worry about your schedule running late (hint, it always does) and racking up extra fees. I simply stay on the job through the day from the bride's finishing touches in the morning through the main elements of the reception.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY WEDDING VIDEOS?
Your videos will be completed and delivered to your online portfolio within twelve weeks for you to download. Your portfolio will be password protected and is a great option for sharing the wedding ceremony with friends and family that may be unable to attend.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE MUSIC FOR MY WEDDING VIDEO?
I work with a premium music licensing company to find just the right song(s) to fit the feel of your day. As you have most likely noticed through watching my highlight films, I traditionally work with sweeping cinematic and romantic indie selections.
HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY?
Based in Northern Iowa, I travel throughout the states of Iowa and Minnesota and have no travel fees to Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Minneapolis, or St. Paul.
I also travel worldwide for Destination Weddings, simply fill out my contact form so we can discuss the unique details of your wedding and provide a custom quote for you.
DO YOU AND THE PHOTOGRAPHER STEP ON EACH OTHER'S TOES?
Not at all. I have been honored to work with dozens of amazing photographers and I deeply respect what they need to accomplish on your wedding day. I keep open communication as to shots that I aim to capture and we work together to find the best lighting and angles. I have found that this open communication with the photographer can be a creative think-tank that brings out the best in each other.
DO YOU EXPECT TIPS?
Nope! Not only are tips not expected, I also have the tipping option turned off with my payment processing system simply because I don’t want you to have the awkward mental games trying to determine if you are supposed to tip or not.
